Tim's Rubicon

I have been off roading for 6 Years. I have driven mostly in the Badlands of North and South Dakota. The Terrain here in Florida is of course considerably different. I started with a 99 TJ then in 2003; I bought the
best Jeep money can buy, a 2003 Rubicon. As you all know the Rubicon lacked some serious ground clearance. So I added a Pro Comp 2inch spring lift with a 2inch block lift, and of course one must have a Warn M8000 winch with 100ft of 3/8 inch cable, Warn front and rear bumpers and a Warn steering
sector box skid plate. I threw on a set of Pro Comp 3000 shocks and a 2000 steering stabilizer. A Superlift adjustable front track bar and a Skyjacker rear track bar and a set of JKS quick disconnects. For traction I put on a set of BFG - 285 / 75 R16's. And for a little trick I saw in JP magazine, The Rubi only goes into lockers in low, so I took 2 wires and a toggle switch and bypassed the locker switch so now the Rubi has Lockers even in 2 wheel drive. The Rubi is also standard equipped with 410 Gears, 4 to 1 transfer Case, True-Trac Limited Slip front and rear and a set of lockers with helical gearing, and a set of Dana 44's front and rear. A full set of 1330 cold forged U-Joints everywhere. A short shaft slip yoke in the rear. The Rubi is an extreme Jeep and has not let me down. With a 66.1 stock crawl Ratio, it is hard to beat. A lot of people say I am crazy for taking a $30 grand vehicle and doing what I do with it but, I reply……… IF YOU’RE NOT GOING TO USE THEM WHY THE HECK BUY THEM.
